I actually can’t believe Roberts went to the majority side after this got leaked. Guy spent so many years trying to uphold his legacy and tanked it hard with one decision.

For most of them that are past the age of having to worry about an unexpected pregnancy (and probably a ton of those that aren’t), they’ll effortlessly pivot to “oh well that sucks, anyway they should just keep their legs closed”. Shitty people gonna be shitty.

so what’s the details of this? no protections for anyone at any gestation?

Preet is the Magic Johnson of politics.

They’ve since moved on to “MUH STATES RIGHTS! LET THE STATE DUH-CIDE!”

It’s really hard for me to not wish horrible unwanted pregnancies on the people who support this. Fuck each and every one of them.

maybe sit this one out guy

we’re one step closer to getting the state right that the Confederacy desperately fought for

what?

Any female must procreate with any man on request. Getting close. Unused erections are sins against God. I mean the state.

The thing that I hate is that he’s right in part. The question of whether regulating abortion a moment after conception versus 9 months into a pregnancy should be treated similarly is not clear cut. A sane society would agree to a reasonable middle ground (which I thought Roe made a decent first attempt at). But we don’t live in a sane society, so we are left at the mercy of crazy religious ideologies.

no a sane society would allow women to do whatever they want with their own bodies full stop

They never stopped fighting. That’s how we got here.

well they did stop fighting for that particular one for a little bit after the Union burned their cities to the ground and whatnot.

It’s not simply a question of whether women can control their own bodies, though. There is a point when the fetus is close enough to a living human that I think it’s existence has to be weighed against those of the woman’s bodily autonomy.

In which case a woman still gets to have full control of her body, but instead gets a c-section.

Wish the rest of the cases Thomas mentioned were overturned immediately instead of via the slow drip that is coming so we could deal with reality faster.
