The Supreme Court: RIP Literally Everything

Imagine thinking this fucking scumbag is on the left in any way.

If you limit it to ā€œpeople who can get elected senator in West Virginiaā€, he is absolutely on the left.

Heā€™s not really on the left, maybe the center, but heā€™s also definitely not a Republican.

Iā€™m confused by the process/tactics here. How can the Dems ā€œforceā€ a vote? If a vote on a bill or whatever is scheduled, it can always be filibustered unless there are 60 votes for cloture. There are enough Rs willing to get out there and be jackasses until hell freezes over, so how are they forcing this if Rs also want a vote?

Theyā€™re forcing a vote on ending debate, which will fail.

This will be in the top five most productive things they do with their trifecta. Maybe top 3. Failing to break a filibuster on womensā€™ rights. Round of applause for the eDems!

Working very hard, thank you!

So Rs are filibustering the abortion rights bill, Ds are ā€œforcingā€ a cloture vote to end the filibuster, and that will fail? Ok, thatā€™s clearer.

Yeah, and even if the GOP stopped filibustering and let them have the vote, it would fail 51-49.

The number of people who just want to be on the winning team is truly pathetic. Although Iā€™m sure part of that is just a mask-off thing too.

Men are kinda the worst.

Men vote, so it matters. And, um, they did poll women.

The entire shift of that poll is likely attributed to republican men falling in line with the party line.

Thinking of going to the protest/March here on Saturday. My whole family will be visiting and my ex-hippy parents are down. Just have to convince my siblings and husband.

Itā€™s mostly this. Thereā€™s something called preference falsification that was discussed on the Hidden Brain podcast episode ā€œA Conspiracy of Silenceā€. Basically social pressure causes people to lie about their real views. Now itā€™s more acceptable, they reveal what they really think. Thereā€™s probably some smaller movement in the other direction too-- some men now feel pressured to to lie and say they donā€™t support choice when they really do.

Shocked face

Yeah I mean isnā€™t that sort of the power of the Republican party? Itā€™s voters quickly (and aggressively and verbally) get in lock-step with their overall policy?

I canā€™t believe people still think there will even be a Democratic party in 20 years

If you ActNowā„¢ with ActBlueā„¢ the Democrats will be able to try EVEN HARDER at failing and not protecting your rights in any way! [ ] $25 [ ] $50 [ ] $100 [ ] $other
