The Supreme Court: RIP Literally Everything

How can republicans know if a fetus has rights without first knowing if it’s gay or trans?

The problem is that states with abortion bans will argue that the crime was planned in their state and the criminals crossed state lines with the intent to commit a crime. If this doesn’t work, they’ll codify that planning an abortion is a crime regardless of where it takes place.

A few different people tweeted it out that didn’t seem related. I haven’t seen it in the news anywhere yet though, so maybe it is made up. He did say this:

They aren`t sated by this leaked ruling. Kevin Cramer, Senator Kevin Cramer, has already talked about a national ban. Joni Ernst and other senators have. This is what Senator Cramer said. He mentioned someone crossing North Dakota state lines to get an abortion.

He said: “I dont find a lot of solace in that just because it didnt happen in my state. So, yes, I think you could expect the pro-life activists would push for federal protections.”

Thank God they labeled the fetus as celebration ruining. Would’ve totally gone over my head otherwise.

Republicans instantly stop caring about the kid the second it takes it’s first breath no matter the race or orientation.

Louisiana just pushed through a bill that would make treating ectopic pregnancies murder afaict. In a death penalty state. jesus christ

This needs to be made into that clown makeup meme, starting with sanctity of life and ending with “Fetuses should be allowed to kill living people.”

It’s satirizing Ben Garrison, among others

This comic was made by the good guys

Got it. Would’ve never guessed it’s satire.

Yeah it’s hard for even the GOAT to keep up with right wing grievances today

But look how the fetus is burning the American flag inside the womb, and at the bottom left where it says gender reveal is an age old tradition

This is all a long con so Clarence can throw his hands up and say “sorry honey”. Pretty far to go to get rid of your Qrazy spouse.

Nah, they very much hope for them to eventually join the armed forces, and/or work 2-3 minimum wage jobs their whole life to make the billionaires richer and keep the dirty immigrants from being necessary to work em. Outside of that they dgaf.

The Cramer quote is on several mainstream news sites, and it’s not an extreme quote - it’s well within the Overton Window.

Seems like it wasn’t leaked by a liberal:

It only takes our single craziest state passing a ban on interracial marriage and a SCOTUS that’s willing to let them. I agree there’s no appetite for a national ban on interracial marriage like there is for gay marriage, but Thomas voting to let Mississippi outlaw interracial marriage is not equivalent him voting against his own, just that he can let MS be crazy comfortably from his home in VA. I think we’ll also see states trying to pass laws that let private businesses refuse to serve interracial couples in the name of religious freedom.

So from what I’ve been reading/listening to, it appears that the legislative and Constitutional paths to even more restrictive laws are far easier to maneuver than the legislative and Constitutional paths to protecting womens’ rights.

The 5-4 pod on this said that it’s a near certainty that any law Congress makes to protect abortion rights nationally will be struck down by SCOTUS, and that it may even be a correct ruling that a law like that would exceed Congressional power.

So basically the only path to fixing this is to pack the court or wait to get a majority on the court, which is probably not going to happen in any of our lifetimes.

We just need to keep egging the justices on until they rule that the Constitution is in fact unconstitutional, and then I can live in the sovereign state of New York

That’s the quote, and the date on the article is today, so I’m not sure if it’s a recycled quote or not but I don’t see any reason to suspect it is.
