I’m sorry but the impeach stuff is purely wasted effort. There’s zero chance you get a conviction and no chance at stopping anyone from voting while impeached.

I think the correct reaction might be to impeach Supreme Court justices. Of course, the Senate will never convict, but you do show trials for the purpose of campaigning in the fall.
Doing so will destroy faith in the Supreme Court as an institution, possibly inducing a constitutional crisis. I don’t think establishment Dems are capable of it because they retain belief in the creed of Americanism, having been indoctrinated by the propaganda of our civil religion.
People who want to bring down the eDems are short-sighted. If you really want change, you should root for the collapse of the entire system.
Everyone is so sure that Republicans will get the trifecta in 2024, so preserving the filibuster is probably the only way to prevent the GOP from passing national anti-abortion laws (assuming Republicans don’t abolish the filibuster themselves) if that happens.

I’m well aware. It puts it in the news every single day and shows a willingness to fight. Most of all, it undermines the legitimacy of the Supreme Court. The only two ways to roll this back in less than 30-50 years are:

Either nuke the filibuster or get 60 pro choice Senators while also holding the House and White House.

Pack the court.
You can’t pack a court that is widely viewed as legitimate. Delegitimizing this shit show of a SCOTUS should have been a Democratic priority a long time ago, but it’s a no brainer now.
If they have 50+1 votes for it, they’ll do it through reconciliation anyway. They’ll just withhold federal funds from states that allow abortion.

The correct play is to stop caring about US politics and GTFO as soon as you can. I have been so so so much happier since I have tuned out. I’ve spent most of the last 2 months in Europe in a bunch of different countries and the vibe is a complete 180 from the US where i have a literal neighbor that lives less than a block away that flies a FUCK YOUR FEELINGS Trump flag outside their house. No place is perfect but what is happening here is avoidable. You just have to leave.
Yes that is a position of privilege that deserves some hate but I have fully come to terms with the fact that there is literally nothing i can do at this point to change the trajectory we are on. Voting, protesting, shitposting, etc. It isn’t going to get the job done because things have been completely over for years if not longer. The idea that 2022 Americans are going to re-fight sufferage, civil rights, abortion rights, LGBTQ rights once they are gone in the next few years is honestly laughable and coming to terms with that at this point is the healthiest thing to do. It’s going to get dramatically worse from here. A 2nd Trump term with a lunatic Republican government at every level will literally be hell here and we are under 3 years from that reality.
