It’s not as if the rest of the plot isn’t full of clichés and that’s just one blip, though.
Is it bad form to quote yourself?
probabaly.
Pretty much any piece of fiction makes use of cliches and tropes. I can imagine all these various cliches used being brought to the attention of the writer or whoever and him/her saying “yeah, so what? It works”. It’s harder for me to imagine that when it comes to a black person showing up out of nowhere and devoting herself to saving the white hero so she can go conquer the world. As a lifelong devoted movie/tv person wouldn’t you be a bit humiliated having that in there?
I suppose I answered my own question.
Normally, but this is one of those cases where you get a pass.
Also: get a lawyer who proofreads the central claims in his law suits
Hole cams too. Go watch the ESPN aired series that Hamilton won (94, 95?)
Its just the most boring thing in the entire world
Yah, I think Moneymaker gets waaay more credit for the boom than is warranted. If he doesn’t cooler Ivey that hand and Ivey goes on to win, it’s the same thing. It was bound to explode no matter what b/c of hole card cams as well as ESPN perfecting their coverage.
Varkonyi already proved that the clueless amateur could win it all the year before and noone cared b/c the coverage sucked.
Varkonyi is a shitty name though.
it’s a triple edge sword, the name moneymaker was what got the headlines in the media, the hole cams, and ALL the tv coverage from non stop wsop/wpt were all at the same time. Too bad we can’t all go back in time.
