Yes, but the recession itself hasnāt really impacted the day-to-day lives of the bottom 60%. Itās impacting the stock market portfolios of the wealthy. The bottom 60% got whacked by inflation before we were officially in a recession, but that seems to have basically stabilized. Iām not saying theyāre in great shape, but I donāt think that declining GDP automatically means theyāre going to be in worse shape in 6 months than they are now. I think thereās a chance this recession doesnāt impact overall unemployment numbers significantly, and thus doesnāt impact wages significantly.
The Biden lighting/set for that speech is pretty odd. Iād love to hear the thought process behind it. I want to hope itās leaning into the dark Brandon bit rather than just a look/effect they didnāt pull off just right.
At the end of the day triggering all the worst people canāt be a bad thing though.
