CNN is reporting that unpaid interest over the 5 percent (10 percent for grad student debt) wonā€™t amortize. Thatā€™s a huge deal as well. That also gives the $12k forgiveness after 10 years more teeth since your principal wonā€™t balloon.

Are they in the county illegally or illegally known as dreamers. Commas šŸ¤·

Basically, Biden gonna do 2-3 months of good stuff to ward off midterm challenges then go back to sucking ass until late 2024 when he runs for a second term.

Itā€™s the charm of an electoral democracy!

To be fair, heā€™s done a lot in 2-3 months.

Iā€™m trying to get on studentaid.gov to see if I can figure out if I have an account set up. It put me in a waiting room to access the site like this is the latest NFT to drop. People must be pretty hyped about finally getting some relief from the insanity of predatory loans.

Is the student loan relief eventually going to be challenged to the SC?

Peak USA would be Brett ā€œAll of my significant personal debt magically disappeared the moment I became a SC justiceā€ Kavanaugh writing about how this is illegal and unfair

I donā€™t think the Supreme Court touches this with a 10 foot pole. Thereā€™s no upside. I know lol law and all, but I have no idea who the fuck would even have standing to sue.

If SCOTUS fucking this up costs Republicans the 2024 election, itā€™s be worth it.

The ā€œI had to pay my insane student loans so others should suffer tooā€ have to be the nut low takes. Like 5 year olds know two wrongs donā€™t make a right.

Something somethign ā€œPersonal Responsibilty!ā€ Something something ā€œPay your debts deadbeat!ā€

Whole system is fucked. We drum it into children that they have to do well in school and go to a good college if they want any shot at a comfortable middle-class life, put that education out of their reach unless they take out massive loans, and then scold them for being financially irresponsible. Like teenagers who canā€™t even buy beer are supposed to navigate all this responsibly? Fuck off with that. Iā€™m sure all these assholes were making financially sound major life decisions at 18 years of age.

Someone should quote the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard at them.
