Hong Kong has been China since 1997. They’ve just taken their time asserting authority there.
Portland has a good rail system, too, at least it seems like it whenever we visit. We get a hotel downtown, park the car with we arrive and don’t use it again until we check out.
Hong Kong has always belonged to China. It was leased to the Brits in 1898 for 99 years, and reverted back to China at the end of the term.

Not a shock. Police budgets are also likely to go up over the next few years given increased state and local aid.
Oh so they get a extra bonus for the new year? Well that’s awfully nice but also even if q1 is usually higher than the other quarters I don’t really care because I don’t agree with having nothing fundamentally change in this aspect
The way under-covered and under-discussed voting problem is that the GOP is telegraphing blatant riggage. The states with GOP legislatures are never going to certify a Democratic win ever again, absent a federal takeover of elections. I’ve seen exactly nobody discussing this in mainstream media.
That’s because the notion is ridiculous.
