The Presidency of the Joes: more like INFRASTRUCTURE WEAK

There are probably a lot more votes for ending the filibuster than just ignoring Senate rules.

So one thing a bunch of us are going to have to remember is that the tempo, importance, and accuracy of Washington leaks are about to go waaaaaay down.

Washington has always had a lot of leaks (compared to say any private enterprise I’ve ever encountered) but the Trump presidency had advisors routinely leaking absolutely explosively bad ideas the president was fixated on so that he would see it was creating bad coverage and say he never meant to do that fake news.

That’s not how things are going to be anymore. There will still be leaks but they will be less frequent (it was like every goddamn day someone leaked a story so goddamn big it would win pulitzers in normal years all the way from 2019 to the end) less substantial (they won’t be in the same category of bigness even if they get covered in the same tone), and way less accurate (because some of the leaks will be intentionally misleading, and some of them will just be badly slanted/worked by the leaker).

These stories we’re getting about what’s happening behind closed doors… 100% of the time that’s the story someone wants out for some specific tactical reason, or it got leaked as a favor to some journalist and is almost entirely bullshit.

She needs to be recalled ASAP. An absolute disgrace of a human.

Super! She must feel good getting her ally into the agency she helped create.

I swear I saw some analysis suggesting that MGT helped cost Republicans the Georgia Senate run-offs because the Republican vote under-performed in her district.

Ah, the classic “We identify as racists, but it is offensive to call us racists.”

Can’t even imagine the mental gymnastics goin on there

Imo this tendency is a function of people wishing to believe agency exists where it does not. Ie believing that the things we do on a micro-level can (and even do) affect macro-level events.

It’s satire btw

What’s keeping you from posting it?

I don’t know if it’s me or you getting whooshed here, but that’s satire.

EDIT: Definitely me getting ponied though.

Not great satire, as I have seen someone earnestly try to defend a similar position more than once

People need to chill out with jumping all over Democrats based on random tweets and unverified stories. They haven’t actually done anything wrong yet, and they are doing a lot of things right. Its kind of like being a Browns fan, you’re just so used to losing, and your team being run by incompetent morons, that its easy to fall into defeatism.

That said, Democrats need to view Republicans realistically. I think all 50 Democratic Senators would personally shoot a serial killer if given the chance. That’s how they need to view this opportunity, only times a thousand or more.

The Republican Party is a death cult, and its not just COVID. If they ever gain power again, many many people will die as a direct result. Its already happened over and over and over again. Medicaid expansion, stupid wars, inciting racist violence, the list goes on. But even more importantly, if this version of the GOP gets hold of the federal government again, that’s the end. They will jail and kill political opponents, they will inflict unimaginable terror and pain on the poor and colored, they will never face a free and fair election again, absent a true civil war.

Democrats need to understand that these are the stakes. If you would be willing to shoot a serial killer, you sure as hell should be willing to vote against the god damn filibuster.

She’s a comedian. Its satire.

That’s the whole point. She’s making fun of those people. Are you already into the Bud Light again?

Who’s 2 and 3? #1 obv GOAT Raskin.

A $1.5T tax cut passed through reconciliation. Tell us more about rules tho.

No, and I don’t understand the tone of this post. I was not trying to insult your post in any way - I just think good satire is usually obvious. I’ve never heard of her, and that kind of drivel is what I hear out of deplorables constantly so it didn’t really trigger any “is this sincere?” alarms in my head.

Satire is not exactly easy to spot in this day and age because reality is already ridiculous.

And it’s bud light platinum. Big difference. It specifically says it’s made for the night.
