The Democrats should fast track the Romney money for kids plan. It’s good policy, and it would be filibustered but who cares. Pass it through the house and make them do it. Like actually stand up there and read the phone book to stop it. Then scream about it and say you genuinely tried bipartisan legislation.

Still a money bonfire. AIUI, the current plan is: (1) use SLS to build a space station in lunar orbit, (2) use SLS to fly astronauts to the space station, (3) use a completely different rocket to fly a lunar lander to the space station, (4) use the lander to land on the moon and return to the space station, (5) come back home.
SLS is coming along nicely, and underwent a critical pre-launch test last month. It failed the test about an eighth of the way through because some of the engine parameters went outside of their operating envelope. Good news though! It turns out that the safety parameters are just too darned conservative, so they’ll just loosen them up to fit the data and onward to space (after, thankfully, a second test at least).

Weirdest thing is that filibuster is nowhere in the constitution. They just made it up and now they act like it’s sacred.

Fines don’t mean anything. The only thing that will change behavior is jail. And that ain’t happening.
Bypass metal detectors? Right to jail. Right away. Vote to keep Marjorie Taylor Greene? Jail. Vote against Covid relief? Believe it or not, jail.

Why is former Presidents receiving the intelligence briefing even a thing?
So that the sitting President can ask them for advice when a difficult situation comes up, which is even more reason to deny Trump access.

I feel like there is some stuff in the Rupar thread that belongs here. I’m not watching daily briefings, but it seems like the messages coming from the press secretary are exceeding my expectations of the Biden admin. I’m cautiously optimistic on some things. I don’t know how to parse all the leaks on the means testing and how much sway those 9 Dems have and all that, but at least they aren’t saying yeah let’s change this popular policy for the reublicans

I think Riverman pointed out that the Pod Save america people and those in their more Obama tight circles are saying similar things so it seems to have support from many areas not just lefties.
Maybe it’s @SweetSummerChild and obviously we won’t get all the shit needed, but if I was back over a year ago I would have not expected this language coming from Biden admin after taking power.
I guess we can hope the “bipartisan” deals are gonna be between Manchin etc all and the rest of the Dems.
