Trump and Johnson are really testing the limits of what makes a society function. It’s easy to forget that a constitution and laws are nothing more than codified norms. When people in power simply decide to ignore them we actually have little recourse.
It’s pretty scary.

And what does a toddler do when they don’t get their way? Throw a tantrum. Sure, Dum Donnie has had his share of melt downs thus far. But I’m afraid to see what a full TANTRUM looks like in the face of resistance from the GOP, push back from foreign leaders, and the impeachment inquiry. This behavior will feel drastically different to Rump than the previous status quo- which was basically just endless ass kissing to appease his narcissism. Don’t get me long - I’m thoroughly looking forward to trump going nuclear, just scared for him doing so in the literal sense.

Not sure about your last point. I’m not saying it’s not worth consideration, but I’m just not persuaded by concerns that impeaching one of the most blatantly criminal and corrupt presidents in history will lead to every future Dem president facing multiple impeachments. The modern GOP will do that anyway as long whenever they believe they can get away with it.
I’m just beginning to believe in the futility of trying to minimize or influence the behavior of people who were going to do those things anyway. They are actively looking for an excuse. Obsessing over how to make sure we don’t give them one is a wasted enterprise.
