Just to recap this situation:

Eddie Gallagher is an undisputed war criminal who murdered a teenager for sport and posed for photos with the body, who was turned in by his own platoon.

I have even less faith in deplorables than most of you but I find it hard to believe that running with this would be a bad move for the left. It is sickening, absolutely disgraceful, and easily understood.

I don’t claim to know or understand the military, but this feels like dangerous territory. Either this becomes a string of firings where successors also refuse Trump’s order, or Trump’s found his military that will do whatever he says. At the very least, we inch closer to the military follows him no matter the order.

I left without asking. It was my MILs bday and there was one quiet moment it almost came up, but I preferred to let him commiserate about his night shift MP job he hates rather than create a potential rift. My wife and I are the only lefties in the house.

There were two other political moments that did not include me. One, Ms T’s brother was talking about getting his security clearance so he can get a job in something more exciting than his current gov IT job, like working with the drone program. Ms T said “What?! It’s exciting to help kill innocent civilians?” And he said “it’s more interesting. You can’t stop them anyway.” And she said “Yeah killing innocent people is bad, dude.”

And that was that.

The second was my 5yo singing “love me I’m a liberal” because it’s been in heavy rotation since walrus exposure. Nobody noticed but me.

Ol’ JT behaved.

i like to propose hypothetical situations that exactly describe real events. i woulda tried that. like, “hey so you’re an MP, right? what would you do if you caught a soldier texting photos back home bragging about how he just executed a 15-year-old prisoner of war with like a big hunting knife?”
