Come spike the football at the end of the impeachment process. You obviously don’t give two shits about this country since you think a guy wiping his ass with the Constitution is a-ok and not worthy of impeachment. Cue favorite two word phrase from Succession:
And, surprise surprise, Pence did not attend the ceremony as they hadn’t announced an investigation. Is that more than attempted in your eyes, Nikki?
jesus christ if people want to watch impeachment hearings they are surely all archived on the internet. I swear to god if they preempt Young Sheldon to show a replay of a goddamn congressional hearing in prime time I am going to MARCH ON WASHINGTON
Everyone who has been arguing with you has been saying that the GOP has been predictable in not doing the right thing over the past two years because they believe it is in their best interests to not do the right thing and that they will start doing the right thing when they believe it is in their best interests to do the right thing. And respect for the military isn’t all of a sudden going to make them prioritize doing the right thing over acting in what they perceive as their best interests.
Based on past behavior, it is reasonable to predict that Republican senators would be more inclined to cooperate with any swiftboating attempt against Vindman than they would be to defend him against it. The general sentiment in this thread is that you’re crazy if you believe the latter.
What you are basically saying is that if a cop was a whistleblower against other cops, they would be celebrated and praised by their superiors just like you expect Vindman to be praised and celebrated by Republicans in the Senate. Do you think that the cop brass are more likely to protect or work against a whistleblower in a large police department?
And yet and yet and yet you give zero evidence of this ‘swiftboating’ being a thing among GOP senators. You’re talking about the general public and the House. I’m talking about 53 people. I’ve stated over and over to show your work on GOP senators saying that actual war heroes are bad deep staters, and you keep refusing to do it. I can only speculate that is because you don’t actually have the evidence you think you do.
I mean they swiftboated John Kerry and he won the Silver Star, an actual award for significant valor. Vindman seems to have been awarded the Purple Heart, which means he got wounded in combat. No Silver Star, no Bronze Star. Just the Purple Heart and assorted other nonsense. “I like heroes who don’t get wounded”.
rofl, you are hopeless. I said ON CAMERA you witnessed this incident as part of the general public, not some behind the scenes thin blue line bullshit. There is a VAST difference in what I’m saying and what you are, sorry. The amount of pure tunnel vision on this site by some people is amazing.
And you do understand that Vindman is not the WB right? He’s a guy who went through the chain of command to report something he heard that was improper. He didn’t do this once, but twice (after July 10 meeting and after July 25 phone call).
50 Republican Senators cosponsored a bill condemning the impeachment inquiry and they’re privately debating whether to investigate Joe and Hunter Biden as part of an impeachment trial but Trump firing some random military dude will make them suddenly wake up and realize Trump is bad and they must convict.
Should we start a thread for the military coup of Bolivia?
When the GOP launches partisan attacks against non-veterans, Senate Republicans back them up. Do you dispute this claim?
I claim that Republicans will act this way against veterans who go against Trump. You claim that Republicans will treat a war hero differently. Do you dispute this description of where we disagree?
If so, is the burden on me to prove that Republicans will treat everyone the same way or is the burden on you to prove that Republicans won’t? When someone suggests there is a line that Republicans won’t cross, Republicans march over that line.
I could argue that it should have been sooner, but the nomination of Merrick Garland should have been the tipping point when everyone should have realized that Republicans have absolutely no shame and will do whatever it takes to maintain power. If Cuse wants to give me another temp-ban for dehumanizing language, then so be it, but we’re better off treating Republicans as if they are not human. There is no event which we should expect to finally, finally coax some hint of human decency out of Republicans. They are inhuman monsters who should be treated as completely fungible and expected to act completely the same until they prove us otherwise. They are a cancer and there can be no unity with cancer.
Vindman won’t change the minds of Republican senators. At best, their minds might change if Vindman’s testimony changes the minds of their Fox-watching constituencies, making those senators feel endangered electorally.
Trump judge says Trump can’t sue. So much winning.
Meh, IME the sanitation trucks always show up for Presidential visits in NY, and I believe they’re to block an area from being rammed by a vehicle.
Please stop
Bravo. Take notes, Chuck Schumer, you worthless fuck.
