Once again, the media has decided to misconstrue my comments to advance a biased and political witch hunt against President Trump.
Much like Trump and the transcript/wb report this doesn’t fly. We have the literal words out of Mulvaney’s mouth. Nothing is being misconstrued. He was crystal clear in what he said.
This framing is so tilting. Regardless of what McRaven’s piece says, this quote implies there’s still a way for Trump to turn things around. Like, if you’re still on the fence about whether we need a new person in the Oval Office, you’re not really an ally.

“The US has secured the oil” is possibly interesting. As far as I know the major oil fields are far to the South of the border, and not part of the area the Syrian troops are currently operating in or said to be about to advance in to. We know the US is actually staying in at least part of Syria, Al Tanf. Perhaps they’re actually staying in other parts as well, or at least trying to not let them become fully Syrian government owned?
This is obviously just wild conspiracy stuff for now, feel free to ignore.
Also, in more obvious news, when Erdogan says terrorists he means the SDF, and everyone knows that. So Trump is bigging up them being killed when he endorses that tweet.
