The Presidency of Donald J. Trump v5.0: ORANGE Gettin' PEACHed, Nation Goes PEANUT BUTTER & BANANAS

It was ALWAYS about the oil. Just another example of saying the quiet part loud.

My theory is someone told Trump to say the call was “perfectly legal” and his mushbrain translated that into “a perfect call.”

Some of this fruit is too low hanging.

This is what I disagree with almost everyone about in the real world and on this site. I’m not a pollster, so can’t back this up with any solid numbers, but I feel the GOP base is shrinking. I realize my personal life is a super small sample size, but I know a few people who voted for Trump who are now so thoroughly disgusted, they won’t be voting for him again. I know of NO ONE who didn’t vote for him, but now would. In other words, members of the Republican party have defected because of Trump’s impish behavior without him winning over anyone afaik

I still say most don’t understand how he got elected in the first place. Sure, there are Republicans who will never vote for a Democratic candidate no matter what. But that’s not why HRC lost. It’s not about Republican v. Democrat. It’s about establishment v, anti establishment and I don’t see how much has changed since 2016. It’s why I think Dems need to nominate the most radical, far left, anti establishment candidate possible (this is what Trump ran on and when will Dems wake up and see this is the way to go?). Catering to moderates and running anyone but a populist will lead to another GOP victory in 2020, yet I’m afraid that’s exactly what’s going to happen. I’m no Beto fan, but Biden should be polling worse than any other candidate, yet look who dropped out. Dems are pathetically weak in strategy. I cringe reading posts about how we need a candidate who appeals to centrists

I don’t disagree. I think it’s no accident that we elected a black guy (very radical for the US regardless of what Barrack actually was once he got into office… also he ran on hope and change which was exactly what people wanted to hear) followed by a game show host. The common people are insanely dissatisfied with the status quo.

I’ve also got serious questions about likely voter models in 2019. It seems to me that Trump drew in a lot of voters who don’t normally vote. The establishment Republicans I know didn’t vote for him, but I’m 99% sure my conspiracy theorist brother showed up to the polls for the first time to support him after Bernie lost the Democratic primary.

A little dog whistle for the Qanon folks.

It’s working on the people it’s targeted at. He needs the GOP base behind him to avoid being convicted in the Senate. It’ll work on them.

He knows what happens when you let someone answer in written form.

I am just hopeful history will look down on all those who took such an obviously ridiculous stance.

On the one hand, yes, you’re right.

On the other hand, maybe we’re mistaking where their priorities lie. For the bank, etc. - funded Dems, any Republican > a real leftist. They (funders of ‘establishment’ Dems) prefer Biden because he’s reliably pushed their agenda for like 40 years. They’ll reluctantly rally behind Warren if it comes to that but they would much much much rather 4 more years of trump than Bernie.
They, and the big donors on the right are (smartly) only interested in getting their policy goals, partisanship is only relevant as a tool to that effect.

Got me thinking. What if Jesus Christ acted like Donald Trump? Not like “What if” but seriously could everything be explained by that?

Don’t dance too much, it’s going to get fast tracked to SCOTUS who will somehow find a way to rule Trump can keep his tax info secret.

I am having a hard time believing POTUS would just outright lie.

You’d think the headline people would learn by now. He does not, in fact, “have” to hand over anything, because he has figured out the cheat code: “the fuck you gonna do about it?”
