Is this just shit to make us feel better? Trump accomplished what he set out to. He made his family and all the loyal grifters rich. He reinvigorated racism in the country. He ended the careers of all the “feckless” Republicans and replaced them with Bannon/Miller disciples. He packed every level of Federal court with Trump sycophants. He destroyed almost everything Obama built.
You have to be a real moron to take a victory lap in July 2020. Even if he loses we are probably fucked in this country for the rest of our lives. We still have climate change on the horizon if we ever manage to beat Covid. The national debt is exploding and will hamper any attempt to pass much needed progressive policy. Our standing in the world is greatly diminished.
In short the idea Biden winning or the Dems if they crush getting 52 senate seats being a victory is fucking dumb. It will be a placeholder to temporarily stop the bleeding. Biden won’t be able to do anything with either his political capital or state of the country. And the next Republican president will be a younger less dumb Trump.
