Something that has really been made obvious by the Trump presidency is the way that people with infinite legal budgets can abuse the system to prevent basically anything from happening. I get that lawyers love it being effectively endless until one side runs out of money, but that’s not a very good way to actually get to justice. It shouldn’t take 3.5 years to get basic documents from the President while he’s very obviously looting and pillaging. This system needs a significant rework, and it probably wouldn’t be a terrible idea to go through the entire legal code line by line and simplify/reduce/rework everything. I’m not saying change the meaning of the words, but change them from legalese into regular english. Make it all searchable. Have a 5000 term glossary so that people can get the meanings of weird proper nouns specific to the law by mousing over them.
Posting this here for the contrast. He certainly has had some bad policies in the past but he’s certainly not insensitive. As a fellow member of the loss club it’s clear that he gets it.
