I’m voting in person no matter what. I’ll take whatever covid risk there is to do my part in getting this fucking clown out of office. (Spoiler alert - my state is voting red no matter what. RIP)

Here’s something I don’t quite get…you read about postal workers and the union “sending up warnings” about the sabotage. If there’s a dozen Trumpsters at the top planning sabotage, where are the workers saying “fuck you, no”? When asked to go collect drop boxes, to remove sorting machines, to slow down other parts of the process, etc. They’re unionized, so I would imagine it’s more difficult to simply axe them immediately for insubordination.
Maybe I’m being a sweet summer child.
The difficult one is obviously no overtime. There aren’t many folks who are going to work hours and hours for free because it’s the “right thing to do.”

As unsettling as this is, I think Trump is turbo-fucked if he’s relying on in-person voting to save him this time. Remember his rally in Tulsa? It’s one thing to rah rah rah COVID IS A HOAX on social media, but we already saw how much of his coalition is ready to risk their lives to support him. You have to look past the tiny fraction of his supporters that are straight-up crazy. They’re loud, but they’re a tiny group of people. Most of them, like Trump, are all bluster and no bite. They will vote mail-in or absentee in the guarantee that THEIR vote is safe and legitimate.

It would be nice to have a named AG candidate that could make it very clear that prosecutions will occur for all violations at all levels and make sure to include the Hatch act.

That’s what I’m saying. He has fewer supporters willing to cross that line than you think. How about that Republican guy who said schools should open and then quietly confessed his own grandkids would not be attending in person? They are by and large cowards who can barely function in the face of their ridiculous conspiracy theories. Now they’re facing a legitimate threat to their lives. They will vote from home.

Something similar happened when Horace Greeley died after losing the 1872 presidential election popular vote but before the electoral votes were cast. His electors pretty much became faithless electors and could vote for whoever. The 63 electors split their votes between 4 presidential candidates and 8 vice presidential candidates.
