The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Unconstitutional Slop

FedEx is the worst. UPS is solid.

Also is this pre-existing conditions hilarity a precursor to them having another go at repealing ACA, or SCOTUS shooting it down? Or are they just convinced now that their supporters will swallow whatever shit they shovel into their mouth

Elliott Abrams, best known for his conviction in the Iran-Contra affair, is now the US’s top envoy to Iran.

Yes.

Basically, Trump went out to promise literally everything and is clearly not going to deliver any of it because he would have already done so if he wanted to. That and he doesn’t have the power to unilaterally do most of it.

Will it work? Probably not. Maybe some disillusioned Trump voters change their mind briefly but forget about this in a week since most Americans have the memory of a goldfish when it comes to news.

The election will come down to whoever releases the biggest story a couple of days before it. I’m sure both administrations have something big set up for that moment.

The USPS shit is infuriating. I’m already seeing it. Stuff that normally takes 2 days to get here even during covid is now taking 6+ days. And it’s only going to get worse as time goes on. The tracker says its in a city 25 miles from me but will take 4 days to arrive wtf.

And it comes from AZ. 6 days to come from AZ to CA LOL

I guess this is the surprising part to me. I’ve been following politics pretty close for 25 years and the post office was never really on my radar. Perhaps it’s just my ignorance but it sure seems like a new level of vitriol.

Fred Smith was a trust fund kid who founded FedEx with a $25 million (today’s dollars) inheritance, of course.

LOL the press showing up for his Friday night campaign rally. These assholes can’t do their job in the god damn White House briefing room, they’re just props for Noodlebrain McTubs to point at while he rants aimlessly.

If we got rid of the PostOffice and then FedEx and UPS merged to form a giant delivery conglomerate do you know what we’d be?

Fed-Up

Some bootstraps are more equal than others.

Anecdotally, we’ve been receiving our daily USPS mail delivery at about 6pm the last two weeks. It always used to be here by 12 or 1pm.

A whole lot of people are going to be pissed off when they stop getting their mail or it comes late. Unfortunately they’ll be pissed at the USPS and probably start saying “the USPS doesn’t work, it’s wasting money and not delivering. Time to get rid of it.” They won’t for one second think critically and determine WHY it isn’t working as it should or who is truly to blame.

FedEx and UPS can’t possibly be set up to handle daily deliveries to every house in the country. I don’t think most people realize just how much service the USPS provides, and they’ll wish it was back soon after it’s gone.

Cliffs: fuck trump.

You can say this about practically any US Federal department. Reagan successfully marketed anti government sentiment with simple catch phrases and the left still is irrationally timid about stating their value. This is more “knife to a gun fight” stuff from the eDems. The Federal government needs a mass market campaign to claim credit for all its done, but the Federal government leadership is full of technocrats that want to circulate think center pieces along themselves and not engage in something as low brow as marketing.

Jfc. It would not be failing without the bullshit 75 year pension funding albatross tied around its neck

If they ever really wanted to save money they could do 4 days a week delivery instead of 6.

They could also maximize being the “last mile” by contracting more with the for profit delivery services and places like Amazon.

Putting a piece of paper in a box and have it show up at someone house across the country in two days is amazing. And it was working fine until this bozo took over

Again messaging. Why are there not commercials running constantly on all the news channels. Bloomberg should get off his fat wallet and just buy all the time on the Evening fox shows.

I don’t disagree with you, but if you’re impressed by this just wait until you hear about email.

Yup. But a big number of olds and rurals rely on that. prescriptions by mail is a huge. And don’t forget those Trump Bucks checks.

Just saw a tweet (unverified with a news source) that claims USPS told states that they must use first class stamps for ballots, not $0.20 bulk rate.

It’s pretty disgusting watching this play out in real time. I’m high risk for covid, and probably going to vote in person, unless I can drop a ballot off in person. I think they’re going to succeed in disenfranchising a lot of people who vote by mail and it may just get the job done for Trump.
