The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Unconstitutional Slop

Isn’t Zogby terrible?

Yeah one of the areas of commonality I have with him is a strong dislike for religion in general.

I think the point is that they were one of the last refuges Trump could look to for encouraging poll numbers. If even they are saying Trump is struggling with toast…

Zogby is trash but if shit like this motivates people to vote, donate, organize etc. I’m all for it

It’s incredibly disingenuous when people try to claim hating an idea is the same as hating a person or group of people.

Would it be like saying “I hate Canadians” when I mean, “I hate Canada”?

“I hate Islam” in the context of a wave of post 9-11 Islamophobia was a bad look.

Not really. Canada isn’t a belief system.

That’s his way of bludgeoning me into submission because I’m not a pacifist.

Ok maybe but that’s still a far cry from claiming it was some kind of bigotry.

Sure it is! Tim Hortons is good. America is bad. Hockey is good. Private healthcare is bad.

Canada has overwhelmingly private healthcare.

Not really. Our HC is about 2/3 public and 1/3 private.

My definition of public healthcare is: the doctors are civil servants rather than contractors, like the NHS. If you’re going by who pays, the US is 50% public.

Is this a real breakdown? I would have assumed we were like 90+% public.

That’s a very narrow definition. I usually understand it in terms of ownership and funding rather than who employs the medical personnel.

Ok. We definitely don’t look at it that way. But yes, most doctors here are not directly employed by the government. They usually use a small business corp where the revenue would be made up of per service charges to the Ministry of health.

If you include things like dental, vision, etc you get 2:1.

Right that makes sense.
