You are right the Trump supporter is not going to watch this particular Axios on HBO show or necessarily hang on his every word. But they will watch an unfiltered rally, Fox interview or whatever at least every once in awhile and love the general vibe of it.
Then at some point, a liberal friend or whoever will try to embarrass them w/ clips of Trump saying absurd shit. Which I agree is the best strategy to make Trump look bad, but they aren’t going to change their mind on a clip. 9 out of 10 times they will just ignore it.
1 out of 10 times they will watch the full source material, decide that Trump put in a little hedge or out in his absurd statement that the “liberal friend” didn’t present fairly, and that regardless they liked the overall vibe of what he said. Thus, fake news.
Like I said this shit isn’t so funny or cute when Trump is incapable of switching out of clown mode w/ 150k dead but I’m near certain he would have curbstomped the election w/o Corona.
Yeah, I thought it was hilarious when Trump clowned Jeb, Rubio, Cruz, etc. during the R primary. Remembering that feeling kind of helps with understanding the Trumpkin mindset.
In my anecdotal experience the educated upper middle class suburban types are gone and not coming back either. Like my uncles are hearting my posts where I mock Trump " owning the libs " by letting masses of Americans die of Covid and made some anti trump posts and even advocated for some fucking police reform. Now they simply think we need better leadership and no real changes in these police departments but still lol
