Yeah I was gonna say CT’s defense contracting industry is huge. UTC is one of, if not the largest employer though I think they recently sold off their helicopter business. Also have Electric Boat down the way in Groton with the Coast Guard Academy. So while Murphy tries to play the strong left card he’s definitely held to the fire from those companies.
For guns- I think a couple manufacturers recently left CT or at least threatened to after we passed some more strict regulations due to 26 teachers and 6 years being killed. The gun culture here (and everywhere in this country) is insane.
For fun I picked a random high profile gun company (Smith and Wesson) and read the history section on their Wikipedia page. Its basically a loltastic story of corporate evil. They stole the design for a gun from another guy and got rich on the intellectual capital. Then they started selling handguns to both sides of the Civil War. Then they got some of that sweet “free market” juice with police and military government contracts. Real American Heroes if you ask me.
Ha. It’s funny you mention S&W as I had a professor that was going to hook me up with a job for them after I graduated but I thought about it and just couldn’t do it. I think my favorite movie is GWH and I just kept thinking about the scene with Matt Damon passing on the job with the defense firm. I’m a firm believer that everyone deserves a good defense but I couldn’t advocate for a place like them.

That woman in the grocery store not wearing a mask, already feels enough shame because she was raped. Having something over her nose & mouth triggers her PTSD, and causes her to relive that trauma.
That man at the corner store not wearing a mask. He’s a volunteer firefighter, and just came from the ER, after being treated for smoke inhalation. He removed his air mask, in order to help a child breathe fresh air, instead of thick smoke.
That elderly lady not wearing a mask. Her husband of 60 years just passed away. She’s doing her best to learn to live alone. Every breath is physically painful, due to her grief.
That little boy you lectured about removing his mask? He’s autistic. He doesn’t understand. He simply wants it off of his face.
That little girl who screams when somebody tries to mask her? She’s claustrophobic. She came from an abusive home, where she was confined to a closet.
There are all sorts of reasons for not wearing a mask. Not all are lung, or immune system related.
Not wearing a mask does not make a person selfish, or inconsiderate. It simply means that, there may be an unseen reason why they cannot wear one. You don’t know their story, and, to be quite honest, it’s none of your business.
Don’t shame or bully, just be kind. We never know what kind of day some one else is having.

My calves are mismatched like that because of an Achilles tear (came completely off the bone, had to be replaced with the tendon that runs to the tip of my big toe). The calf atrophied badly after surgery and never came all the way back. Favre’s injury history shows both bone spurs and stress fractures in the left ankle and heel, so that might do it.
