The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Unconstitutional Slop

Not this year. Try again in 4.

Oh wow. Just wow. Iā€™m so sorry dude.

Can we be cautious uncritically repeating old jokes that make trans people the punchline please?

I was just thinking of something.

Assuming Trump loses in November, heā€™s still going to be screwing with GOP Policy for years afterwards through tweeting/hopping on fox news and other places for interviews. He will have a large power to swing votes with endorsements or ranting about people. Essentially an unhinged kingmaker on the right, ensuring that future presidential candidates continue to push right and give the racists red meat etc because if they donā€™t someone will and Trump will endorse that person etc.

Am i wrong?

Not to start a derail (or to speak for another poster), but I donā€™t think Devil was repeating anything uncritically. In this formulation both Dundee and Trump are the assholes, and Trumpā€™s retrograde enough to think that the Dundee-style justification would be a winner.

I think the GOP will just keep getting even more insane. They still have massive structural advantages, most notably the highly undemocratic Senate. Most of their House seats are so gerrymandered they are impossible to flip. The only threat to a GOP politician is losing a primary from the right, and thatā€™s not going to change.

Deleted it anyway. Iā€™m sorry.

Thank you.

The more I look back, I realise how soaked in transphobia we all are. As a kid crocodile Dundee was one of my favourite movies (mainly because it was filmed where I grew up). I thought that whole scene was hilarious, and definitely used it in teasing my friends.

Weā€™ve come a long way in the last few years for sure

Doesnā€™t that scene actually make fun of Dundee for being backwoods as opposed to the trans person? Iā€™ll admit itā€™s been a few decades since Iā€™ve seen it.

No. The other ā€œregular folksā€ in the scene are laughing along with Dundee, not at him.

Red Sox hitting some home runs.

The winds have shifted. Even people who obviously donā€™t care have decided its good business to get on board. Never thought Iā€™d see this in my lifetime.

Arsenal had covers over the corner sections of their stands with no fans saying BLM, not sure if Liverpool did but they have the same owners as the Red sox

I tried real hard to make Ace Ventura work. Thereā€™s an argument to be made that theyā€™re disgusted at the deception, not at her being trans. But boy is that a stretch. The filmmakers were expressing transphobia, and regardless of their intentions, that big reveal and everyone clawing at their tongues has come to symbolize transphobia.

And yet Donnie is still raging with racism and declaring BLM to be full of terrorists. I hate him but keep on keeping on with the racism, Donnie. A blowout in November would put me on cloud nine.

Iā€™ve said this a number of times. But watch Disclosure on Netflix. They have trans people discussing that ace ventura scene. Itā€™s brutal.

I recently did! It is what cemented my stance on the movie.
