Lot of levels going on in this clip, but I think Josh is wrong here. Trump isn’t calling Lincoln’s record “questionable”, he’s saying it’s questionable whether Lincoln should be ranked ahead of Trump! The hand motions he makes while saying this make it clear he thinks maybe the order should be swapped.
Then, when Faulkner says “we are free” it’s 100% obvious in context that she’s talking about black people. But Trump just repeats “we are free” because he’s so unbelievably stupid. JFC.
Then Faulkner, instead of clarifying what she meant, just lets him off the hook with a laugh and moves on. It’s borderline criminal. She’s getting some credit for her “zinger” but she wastes it all in the next 5 seconds.
That pained attempt to drink water is consistent with a right shoulder injury where it hurts to move in certain directions. Maybe we can get McEnany to bring in POTUS for a joint mobility assessment at the next press briefing.
Maybe I’m just getting good at dumbfuck Confederate sympathizer speak in the Trump era, but pretty clear to me that he is talking about Lincoln being a racist whose motives for entering the Civil War are questionable despite the fact that the South seceded over slavery and the Civil War resulted in the abolition of slavery.
Not that the press should be spelling this out for him, but just a FYI for the thread.
