I can see it now. Trump narrowly loses the EC on Nov 3rd despite getting wafflecrushed in the popular vote. He declares himself the winner because (insert random blue-states) “cheated.” SCOTUS is expected to rule against him with Roberts being the deciding vote in a 5-4 decision. RBG dies on November 7th. Trump nominates some 32 year Liberty University hack who claims that president has absolute authority. Mittens and Susan Collins (who just lost her seat btw) are “concerned” but McConnell fast tracks the nominee and he (of course it’s a he) is ultimately confirmed 54-46 with Manchin siding with the GOP. SCOTUS rules in Trumps favor by a 5-4 margin. He is president again.
