Think of it like him saving the ‘troubled’ 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics.
In Romney’s defense the SLC Olympics were pretty well organized. He brought that project in on time and under budget. He’s one of the Republicans I’d most trust to run the country not that that’s a high bar. It’s actually a comically low bar, and I in no way shape or form want it to happen lol.

That wasn’t my point at all. Romney took over the ‘troubled’ Olympics and ‘saved’ it, just like he can do with our ‘troubled’ government. It would basically be recreating that role for him.
Pence is the guy running the scheme for Trump, and Trump even said last week, ‘you should look into Pence’s calls to Ukraine’. Pence ‘claimed’ he didn’t know Biden being investigated was part of it. His top adviser was on the call. He also had notes from the call, but somehow claimed ignorance about the Biden connection. When asked at the press conference yesterday (or the day before, can’t remember) whether he and the Ukrainian president talked about Biden, he danced around saying that they talked about ‘corruption’. He refused to say just a simple ‘no’, which means they obviously did. He gave a big bear hug to Trump yesterday (or the day of that press conference), and has tied himself into Trump’s fate. He probably thinks Trump won’t be convicted, and is putting his eggs in that basket. He’s a dumb shit rube, so it’s no surprise he would think he’s safe here.
He committed an impeachable offense, and is both covering it up and defending Trump. He knows it’s illegal. He knows what happened. He didn’t do a damn thing about it, actually advancing it like it was okay to do. If Trump is impeached over this (he will be), Pence will be too. The only way for them to avoid Pres. Pelosi in this scenario is to impeach Pence first. Install Mitt (or whoever) as the brokered choice, and then convict Trump.
