Really looks to me like the removed bits of the transcript are gonna be referencing Manafort stuff. Coming out just now that Trumps original interest in Ukraine was to dig up pretext to pardon Manafort as a thank you for torpedoing Mueller

If this is being released publicly it’s because he’s getting impeached over it IMO… And if a quick reading of it was enough to know he’d be getting impeached for it, it’s very bad.
Like I think a conviction in the Senate is very much in play now based on the speed with which this is moving.

Just thought of a reason why Trump might step down willingly. Let’s say all this talk about impeachment hurts him in the polls. We know his base is never turning on him so he’ll never drop below 30%. But if the polls show more Dems and Independents support impeachment, Trump might step down if he thinks he’ll lose the 2020 election because of a high voter turnout. He can’t stand to lose and that would be his biggest embarrassment I think. He can step down, blame it on the media and the very very mean angry democrats. His base would eat it up anyway.

Depends on who, but I think some drank the Kool Aid and think there was actually a Deep State conspiracy and going back after it was patriotic… They think Biden is the real scandal and going after him is fair play. So they think the ends justify the means.
Or they know they will get primaried if they turn on him.
Or they’re stupid.
The fact that some GOP Intel members have even cautioned the party not to circle the wagons is key evidence here.

I mean they could also just be cowards. They have no idea how to confront any real power or perceived power. Like Lindsey, they live to serve at the pleasure of whoever they think is in charge. They could no more resist Trump as he pulls him underwater with him than I can resist adding chocolate syrup to cold pizza.
