Where can I bet on Trump being the first former POTUS to live outside the country when he’s out of office?
My slim hope is that as this thing gathers steam the calculus changes for a bunch of folks who know it is shady. So we get even more reveals.
Increased chance of being on the right side of history, which is going to be worth something.
Decreased chance that you lose your job and ruin a career just to be slaughtered by the GOP and fox for something that doesn’t even move the needle.
I’m legit starting to reconsider betting against Trump getting impeached by the end of 2019. Nancy and Trump both seem be doing everything they can to fast-track this.
I mean, by god, a call between the POTUS and the president of Ukraine is the easiest possible spot to make an executive privlige argument. He could potentially win that argument or at least keep it tied up in the courts for months. He just flat out gave it up without a fight. Historically impeachement takes a long-ass time, but then Nixon knew how to put up a fight and his lawyers weren’t demented clowns.

During the campaign Trump said that if he lost the election then only the second amendment people could stop Hillary. The people who voted for Trump and Republicans in general, don’t believe in or want democracy. They desperately want a fascist leader who will punish their opposition. There is no chance that impeachment will pass the senate. They will just spin it like they spin everything to their useful idiots.

It’s fascinating to watch the difference between when he’s just rally-riffing and when he’s reading a prepared speech.
For all but the monosyllabic words, you can see him grappling with each one, breaking it down into bite-sized groups of consonants and vowels, pausing for half a second to see if he can recollect a word that sounds like what he just said in his head, and the sense of relief when he gets it out. Then on to the next word. There’s no context, certainly no flow, no sense that the word he just bravely conquered has anything to do with the ones before or after it. It’s just a few dozen individual battles that leave him shaken and sweating.
