That’s not going to happen, though. Trump is not an aberration. Trump is the apotheosis of the direction the Republican Party has been heading. 2016 was a realigning election, when the party caught up to where its voters have gone. Democrats need to do something similar. Pushing Nancy Pelosi to accept impeachment was one step in that direction. Defeating an establishment figure like Joe Biden in the primaries would be another.
