The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: ORANGE Gettin' PEACHed, Nation Goes BANANAS

Yeah I’ll keep my dick in my drawers if it’s all based on exit poles

Asked how she feels with the unclear exit polls, she declared herself upbeat, saying they broadly show her party as the largest.

I feel enthusiastic and excited. But I’m trying to hold it down. We have to be cautious until we have the real results.

She dismissed concerns that Blue and White still don’t appear to have a majority coalition with other parties, saying that – if they are the largest single party– the president should give Gantz a chance to form a government. Negotiations had already begun behind closed doors with other parties, she said. “The public voted for us,” she added.

Looks like its heading to a 3rd election in April if a minority government is assembled.

If he’s not the primest of ministers he could very well see some jail time imo unless he pleads

How can any of that be verified?

Just caught highlights. If lewindoski is not in jail for contempt by the end of the week all hope for American democracy is over. That is not hyperbole.

I mean even if they bust him there’s a 4/10 chance every juror is a deplorable who could nullify right? I could easily envision Trump openly calling for nullification on Twitter.

I’m going to like both of the preceding posts although they are both wrong, the first one because this is just a microcosm of everything failing already, but the second is that they can hold him in contempt without putting him in jail, I think? If so I think that’s > 2:1 to happen

Exactly what is going to happen. Nothing.

I really feel like today is a major turning point in American democracy that will be discussed by historians.

The combined “executive privilege” claim for a guy who didn’t work in the executive with the brazen filibustering under oath was the official statement from the executive they simply do not recognize the legislative branch as having ANY constitutional authority.

If there is not a very significant reaction from both the other branches and citizens this really could be a serious blow to America.

Perhaps but a statement must be made. It’s imperative.

Contempt is a criminal charge, though. Would Barr’s DOJ even be arsed to send agents up the Hill to put on handcuffs? Never mind the actual prosecution

The fact that the DOJ reports to the AG, who reports to the President, is the most massive leak oat at the federal level

Barr is in contempt of congress, can’t they just hold him in contempt of congress? Like I get that it’s a separate type of contempt to do what he did today but I wonder if they would try to weasel it back to the consequence free contempt of congress they have showered upon Barr.

Agree but that is exactly how a dictatorship actually occurs. People simply refuse to recognize the authority of democratic institutions.

They can but I believe the next step is a referral to DOJ for prosecution. Congress doesn’t have DAs on staff to prosecute these things. And after the sham investigation of Kavarape I feel confident that the prosecution would be a sham if it even happened.

It’s honesty time for a “West Wing” moment as much as people are going to hate this post.

Every dem in both houses, and frankly all Governors need to travel to the Whitehouse and simply have a sit in. Refuse to leave for weeks if needed until the administration waives all privilege and opens up any witness to answer questions.

Then as soon as one question is not answered that person needs to be locked up.

A sham prosecution is a problem for next month. Key today is there is a prosecution.
