I’m just tired enough for Trump-speak to make sense. He says it can’t succeed under current management. He’s speaking in foretense, as though in the future new management has taken over and is now prospering on the ashes of the fallen priors.
I don’t think anything was retracted, but they clarified that the woman herself doesn’t recall the incident. To foxnews and trump, of course, this amounts to a huge walkback and the story “falling apart”.

War between Saudia Arabia and Iran would be horrible. I’m not sure how the US getting involved prevents any of those scenarios. We could well make it worse overall, and we at the very least make it worse for us.
Trump really isn’t just simply the President of racists, or of white people, or whatever, he is also very definitely the President of dumb people. They are like “yeah, I’d say some dumb shit like that too!!!”

The same arguments were made for the first gulf war. Maybe it would of been worse if we did not save the babies in incubators or maybe there would be millions more alive today and the middle east more stable.
Either way the US should not lead the way at the behest of KSA especially with trump and the likes of “politics is a never-ending struggle … until the Rapture” Mike Pompeo leading the charge.
I don’t understand Iran’s strategy unless they have it pretty well confirmed that stable is on a leash, going to have to wait a cycle or two to assess what the sputnikites say. The Iranians are now demonstrating a willingness to degrade the most important economic and strategic resource of an American ‘ally’, that would have been akin to suicide in the Cheney err I mean Bush years.

My favorite part of this letter is the part where, in order to find support for “a long standing principle,” the White House counsel dusts off his ancient books, scours Lexis-Nexis, and… ends up having to cite a letter that he himself wrote a few months ago when he was trying to prevent a different attempt at legislative oversight.
