This is an example of bad questioning/follow up on the part of Dems, although I canât recall where Blumenthal went from there⌠And quite frankly, a brilliant strategic maneuver from Kavanaugh when backed into a corner. He doesnât lie, then lashes out at Blumenthal to distract from the way he avoided answering.
Kavanaughâs answer can be interpreted to state that he never had sex with Renate, not that the yearbook thing didnât claim that he had sex with her. He then attacks the question, which distracts from the little maneuver he pulled to avoid having to answer that line of questioning under oath.
I find it extremely frustrating to this day that Senate Dems werenât up to the task of dealing with his verbal shenanigans.

Ah, yes, that time when the Democrats moral victory gave moderate Republicans the cover they needed to put the sexual assault guy who loves beer on the bench. Sadly, one of the finer moments of the establishment Dems in the last couple of years.

Oh, the indignity of it all! Imagine having to go to church while people know what happened when you were in college. The true horror is obviously being the rich white guy on the Supreme Court who waved his dick in some girlâs face unsolicited, not the private citizen who felt like she never belonged at Yale and felt like part of the underclass who wanted to stay anonymous who everyone now knows had said dick waved in her face unsolicited.
Definitely far worse to be the rich white guy on the Supreme Court, am I right?

And you know what, it should be worse to be Kavanaugh in this scenario, so the fact that it is so laughably outrageous that itâs actually not worse to be Kavanaugh is, in and of itself, laughably outrageous.
(Point being that there should be zero shame whatsoever in being the victim here, as she did nothing wrong. All the shame should be his for being a rapey sexual assaulting asshole, but our rape culture and conservative bullshit culture are both so outrageous that sheâs going to experience a lifetime of slut shaming online from horrible people. Beyond that, there should actually be great honor in being brave enough to come forward and speak truth to power.)
