The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: ORANGE Gettin' PEACHed, Nation Goes BANANAS

Grunching but being wealthy is obviously a choice and we should not feel bad for hating and despising these people. By the very definition they have more than they need and literally none of them voluntarily give away everything to where they have only enough for themselves. The better ones donate large amounts but they still are greedy AF and live way above what they need. Literally there are zero examples of billionaires divesting all of their wealth and living on a middle class budget on purpose. So again they CHOOSE to overconsume and hoard resources in the face of vast need out of 98 percent of the world’s population. So yes they are evil.

So LOL clovis.

This guy seems pretty cool.

Let me rephrase. If you have billions and hoard them all you are scum by definition. You don’t need them all and can help lots of people without sacrificing much. My example might have been slightly heavy handed and over the top but i was trying to make a point. I don’t mean the guys making 250k a year who can afford a $50 bottle of wine at dinner they don’t need.

hell yea

The largest single beneficiary of Feeney’s giving is his alma mater Cornell University, which has received nearly $1 billion in direct and Atlantic gifts, including a donation of $350 million enabling the creation of Cornell’s [New York City Tech Campus(Chuck Feeney - Wikipedia)

Rich people feeling guilty ITT.

Surprised more of these folks didn’t play any poker during the boom, I suppose they were too busy teaching the fish to play within their means…

Agree

This is a completely idiotic standard. Wow there is some really stupid takes in this thread lately.

So now everyone who doesn’t give away all their money “above middle class” is corrupt?

I’m upper middle class. Am I corrupt?

Edit. I see you pulled back which is good.

Yea pretty much. Anyone who believes differently is probably fooling themselves.

But I believe you can engage a corrupt system, profit from it, and still be a net force for good. Not everything is so black and white.

Pretty much this imo.

Read my 2nd post. You guys are missing my point. If you have way more than anyone would need and dont give almost all of it away you suck. Period. No that doesn’t include anyone above median and that was a mistake to say that and distorted what i meant.

Think of it as the class equivalent of white privilege. You sound like white people complaining that the concept of “white privilege” is a racist smear against all white people.

I by and large agree with a lot of what clovis says. But he needs to learn that he needs to not aggressively respond to every single post. You guys also could go a bit easier on him. He is one of us.

I think he’s mostly overreacting to a shift I have noticed in this group, that has become ever so slightly less critical thinking and a lot more reactionary.

Quit singling out Clovis in this case. People who dunk on him are the one who make the derails last longer than they should.

Sure move it. For the record my take is not even warm here.

Perhaps I stand my ground too much but I’m being attacked by multiple posters at the same time for a take that isn’t perfectly inside the orthodoxy.

Also for the record nearly everyone itt ultimately came around to my position in this case.

The last “derial” about sex work was in the low content thread for crying out loud. It’s designed to be the dumping ground.

All rich people are evil especially the people on this forum. Bunch of rich people posting on an internet site about the terrible things going on in the world while they drop 10s of thousands on their weddings.
