Well there was a statement from someone in the Chinese government that they didnāt want to escalate any farther, etcā¦
Yeah but they always say that. But then Trump escalates and they have to respond.
This is a week when trump will talk up deals with China to get the stock market back up so he can crow about it. Then next week or in 2 weeks or who knows when, heāll escalate again.
Although itās gonna be hard for him to keep it up this week because heās going to be asked more about ordering companies to abandon China and heās likely to start doubling and tripling down on that when he gets back to the states.

Heās also kind of trapped because the next round of tariffs takes effect on Sunday, he doesnāt have a lot of time to pull his usual shenanigans so he might just go full on āfuck you China!!!ā and blame them for failed negotiations or something.
Theyāve never wanted to escalate any of this shit, they just want to sell us cheap plastic bullshit or whatever but have to play along when Trump fucks that up.
