That was many years ago during the good old days, before Trump had many R Senators 100% by the balls in a year during which many of them were personally up for re-election (including batshit crazy primaries). They demanded a thin veneer of respectability back then before confirming someone.

Yeah in 2016 this was generating hype and piquing the interest of non believers. There is absolutely none of that happening now.
Basically his support has been stripped down to the core and there is nobody else jumping aboard, no matter what he does.
