I love dogs too but this is an idea that I have backed off of in recent years. There are definitely some cultural differences in the US on this. Since dogs are so awesome they are going to help fix it.

[cool story bro] When I covered the WSOP in 2005, I played in a media game in PokerStarsâ lounge with Wil Wheaton. We ended up running into each other later and hanging out for a while, just sitting down and chatting, not work related. I told him I loved his show Arena on G4 (talk about ahead of its time) and he was shocked that anybody knew about it. He told me to hit him up on Xbox Live. The service was new at the time and I didnât really play console games online, so I stupidly never took him up on his offer.
Also, my wife called me during a girls night while I was hanging out with him and I could hear the group of women swoon over the phone.
I had a deck of cards on me and at one point, asked him if heâd sign one. He picked the King of Hearts and wrote, âDear dlk9sâ wife, I love you. - Wil Wheatonâ [/cool story bro]
