I don’t know shit about music theory. Or much about music, but when you say harmonic, you’re really referring to a set of harmonics, right? Harmonics in physics are multiples of a fundamental (lowest frequency). I imagine that depending on how the fundamental is generated, certain harmonics may be missing or enhanced.

Well I’ve never understood music stuff. It’s partly to do with the way the same words are used in both worlds but with different meanings. But even when someone tries to explain music in purely physical language, I still throw up my hands, because who the hell thought up this system.
