I’m a veteran who went through basic training and full SERE training. I have 5000+ skydives, I ski double black terrain, and I walked across Spain by myself. I’m no shrinking violet, I probably don’t take enough personal precautions when I’m out alone. I don’t have nightmares or get scared by “scary” movies.
Wednesday night, I had a nightmare that guys with flashlights and tac gear surrounded my house.
Thursday, I removed my handgun from its safe, loaded two magazines, and put it in the drawer in my foyer table. I have a shotgun but literally zero ammo for it because apparently everyone else and their dog has been buying it all up and it’s impossible to get. But that’s by the door, too. Bad people don’t need to know it’s not loaded.
I live in deplorable land, surrounded by Trumpy neighbors. They all saw my Biden and Ammar signs during the election.
I feel ashamed that I did this, but that weapon is staying there for the foreseeable future. I have no children, and my husband knows how to use it, too.
We’ve also taken to stocking our RV with enough non-perishables to last a couple weeks should the need arise.
Fuck.

I don’t like flying, wouldn’t skydive if you paid me, and have no weapons and sleep with my front door unlocked. It’s probably good to have something if you’re more rural, but I doubt you need to worry. I heard on a podcast that if you left a kid in a car it would take on average like 500,000 years for them to be abducted. Perspective.

The militia guys kidnap/kill enough of the House and Senate, the remainder vote with to accept electoral votes for Trump from AZ, PA, etc.
Then the Q congress passes a constitutional amendment to undo the 2 term limit and whatever else they want, after same coup is repeated in enough state capitals it gets ratified. Full fascism by 2022.
