The Presidency of Donald J. Trump, Episode XIV: T-minus 97 Hours

You got any links to these guys condemning other shoots? Bonus points if victims are Black.

What guys are we even talking about? Someone a poster saw on FB? No, no I don’t have links to those unknown FB cops complaining about other shootings.

oh man, it’s definitely coming. what are the odds on the betting markets?

That pretty much tops the economic anxiety charts.

No, I meant any cops publicly condemning shootings by other cops.

It will be interesting to see whether the dead cop gets the big ceremonial funeral every other cop who dies in the libe of duty gets.

They have brunch plans?

This isn’t something I can get behind right now. Dems just made a huge fuss about $2k checks, Georgia delivered an epic win, and now and he’s pulling the e-brake on a policy that has 78% support with 62% blaming Trump/GOP. Drifting off this winning policy–even if it’s just rhetoric–is a massive fuck up.

Let’s first see the cops publicly condemning this one, then we’ll go from there.

I think it’s a bunch of factors, but a lot of it probably comes down to complacency that sinks in after years of nothing truly catastrophic happening in the Capitol.

Go far enough back in time and the White House used to be relatively unsecured and Presidents would even sometimes go and truly mingle with the people. But, Presidents are pretty uniquely importantant to the chain of command, and a few of them got assassinated, so we’ve steadily and surely beefed up the protection. The Capitol has come under attack at times too (the bombing in 1915 and the Weather Underground one in the 60’s come to mind), but it’s been sporadic and the consequences were relatively minor, so, although security has increased, I don’t think it’s had the same sense of urgency.

When I was a boat ferry captain I was driving through a trump boat parade shortly before the 2016 election. A bunch of cars on my boat started honking at the trump boats in support of them. I got annoyed and told them if they didn’t stop I’d take them back.

They tried to tell me I had no authority to do so until I told them a car horn honking on my boat could confuse other vessels who may think I was making a sound signal (which mean certain very specific and serious things in that context), which is dangerous and illegal.

I sort of made up the reason, the real reason was I was annoyed. But I did have a convincing enough argument apparently because they stopped.

Yea it’s absolutely horseshit. Some political appointee or bureaucrat either didn’t want Trump catching wind that there was some huge security build up or Trump told them specifically not to build up.

Oh sweet the PA Lt Gov? I remember him from his facial hair. So this is for Toomey’s vacated seat?

Yeah, she went and dug up a post from mid-November so she could throw a pity party after getting called out for her atrocious takes yet again. And she’s posted fuck off to multiple other posters. Although I can’t be assed to go dig them up.

Hope that helps.
