I don’t think this is correct. Pence was in the building so he would have had his SS detail around, but other than that I don’t think the SS has any security responsibility in the Capitol.
The shooter was wearing a suit, but he was with the Capitol police.
An officer on the other side, who was wearing a suit and a surgical mask, immediately shot Babbitt in the neck. She fell to the floor.

The Capitol Police announced Thursday that the officer who shot Babbitt had been placed on administrative leave as the department and D.C. police investigate.

Man, Trump really fucked himself here. He was set to grift forever, announce a run for re-election, and grift off that for years. Seriously. This shit was at September 11 levels of media exposure. How can you miss the Capitol attack? You’d have to have no human contact, and no media consumption whatsoever for two days.
