If the CDC isn’t constantly testing we could be totally fucked. I could see them declaring this thing cured in October and shutting down all testing until after the election. If Trump wins and I haven’t already - condo goes on the market that day.

Quite wrong. A travel ban that shifts the curve does nothing to flatten it. Unchecked exponential growth is no smaller a disaster if it happens a week later. The ban only helps if you’re amping up your internal response in the interim, and Trump was not. However, if you have a competent response including social distancing as it’s here, that can flatten the curve and mitigate the disaster.

Given that Trump declared the thing all but cured a week before he announced a national emergency, you’re probably understating what he’ll claim in November

I don’t have free OED access anymore, but I’m pretty sure that golf and diaper have been verbs for quite some time.
By November he’ll be talking about how bad the China Virus was when Hillary was president, but after he became President and put her in jail it got a lot better.

I think the better blame-China argument is that suppressing bad-sounding news about the virus let epidemic take hold.

Your earlier source that omitted the patterned fabric definition doesn’t exactly bode well for it’s credibility.
My original point wasn’t so much questioning whether they are verbs now but whether they should ever have been, given that other suitable alternatives existed.
