The only disagreement I see is thinking you can honestly define all beneficial uses of the US military in the euphemistic language of war PR, where everything is done to defend against unprovoked attack or uphold the neutral international order. We do disagree about that though, and it certainly isn’t a description of historical military usage in general.
Your point about the dispersed decision making in the MIC is obviously correct, but as you point out a lack is in having clear, achievable and sensible goals in the military itself. Those are ultimately set by the hierarchy, and my point is that they are part of the system that is enriching themselves and others, and don’t seem to see a problem.

Yeah. Trump is a disgrace and a moron, but we’ve known that for a long time. His election in 2016 drove home that his basket of deplorables was so much bigger than just 50% of his supporters. That realization was the bigger disappointment from his election. These folks are incorrigible. So there’s a part of me that won’t be as shocked or disappointed if Trump wins again. It will just further drive home the fact that WAAF. We had a nice run for a while.
