The Presidency of Donald J. Trump, Episode VII: We Are All Going To Die, Thanks Obama!

Alito was dropped on our heads like a giant anvil after the disastrous Miers nomination went up in flames and Chimpy McSlingblade had to go hard right to save face. Worst fucking outcome possible. Alito is easily the worst we have now and he’s got a good 20 more years.

Ginsberg: are you really saying every single person other than the president can be investigated? Lets talk about Paula Jones, which said no civil immunity for Presidents. Would Clinton have had absolute immunity in state court?

Stooge: I’m not answering those questions, duh. Rambles about “different issues.” Court has long said POTUS is special.

Breyer: why not just apply normal standards - say “this is unduly burdensome.” Why not say that?

Stooge: (because in this case it isn’t burdensome at all)

Trump lawyer is both irritating and very good.

Sotomayor: you’re asking for immunity that is not in the constitution. We have established Presidents have to face civil lawsuits with Clinton, WTF at saying they’re immune from criminal investigation? President can always argue a subpoena was issued in bad faith. Daddy didn’t even argue that in this case! More immunity for private acts than public acts? That makes no sense.

Stooge: he’s the president! (This makes no sense and is completely non-responsive)

Kagan: a president isnt above the law, this is a fundamental concept going back to the 1700s. Something about John Marshall. Courts can review objections to subpoenas as they come. This total immunity thing is nuts.

Stooge: huge burden, POTUS can’t do his job while responding to investigations.

Gorsuch: how do we distinguish Clinton v. Jones? Your Federal / State court distinction doesn’t matter.

Stooge: nature of the case is different (Trump is a Republican)

Hate to see it

Kagan: stop making executive privilege claims, this case has nothing to do with executive privilege. Trump being a tax cheat and charity scammer has nothing to do with the presidency.

Stooge: executive privilege is part of article two, which is about keeping the president from being burdened, so it is appropriate to use executive privilege here.

Kagan: bullshit, privilege is about official government business. Trump being a criminal happened before he became president.

Not being a lawyer I have no idea if this is going well for Trump or not. Obviously it won’t matter either way but on points Riverman how would you gauge it?

I think Trump is highly likely to lose the NY case and likely but far from sure to lose the Congressional subpoena case.

Kavanaugh: I’M STILL PUNCHABLE! What’s up!!! Lets talk about Article II. Time and energy distraction is different from a distortion of decision making. Which interest are we focused on here?

Stooge: both, obviously. I’m going to say 2,300 prosecutors over and over to run out the clock, did i mention they are locally elected and sure to flood POTUS with garbage subpoenas?

NY Lawyer: this imposes absolutely zero burden on the President and there is zero evidence it is targeted at the President for political reasons. This absolute immunity nonsense is total garbage and you all know it. And lots cool it with the presumption that local prosecutors will go crazy, the so-called flood gates have been open for 200 years and we’ve yet to have a flood.
