I mean when you just say, “healthcare, healthcare, healthcare”, eventually somebody is going to ask for your plan, for details.
Bernie was my first choice, this year and 4 years ago, but I started to realize that M4A is not going to happen. People are not going to be ok with giving up their private insurance paid for by their employer for an unknown. I’ve seen Medicare up close dealing with my parents. They have excellent healthcare. Better, easier and cheaper than mine. And they use it all the time. But for people who haven’t seen it, they will not choose govt healthcare over private, eventhough they should.
It’s not lying to tell them what you are fighting for. The general public doesn’t care about the details. This is totally in line with your observation that different ads are for different people.
I’ve said it before but it bears repeating - it’s a losing strategy for Dems to try to explain the technocratic nuance of their plans. Don’t give voters homework (read about it on my website). Don’t frame policy goals in technocratic terms (achieve X% improvement in performance). The people who care about that stuff are voting Dem 100% of the time.
Hope and Change wins. Simple wins. Dem policy goals are popular - more health care, more safety net, more climate change policy, more help generally. Tell them what you want to do for them.
Every time he says something mentally disabled it is going to be sarcasm?
If there were a trump supporter in my house right now I would kick them in the balls. Plus the only one who is getting trolled is Trump as someone on his staff came up with and fed him that ridiculous defense.
There was a Harvard Chemistry professor who got snagged by the feds. That’s probably what kicked off the nutty rightwing CT. I remember reading about him back in January before this mess started getting more attention. Like I remember a short covid article on the front page along with Kobe.
The Justice Department says Lieber, 60, lied about his contact with the Chinese program known as the Thousand Talents Plan, which the U.S. has previously flagged as a serious intelligence concern. He also is accused of lying about about a lucrative contract he signed with China’s Wuhan University of Technology.
