Misrepresentation aside, giving money to Harvard/Stanford/Yale/etc. is absolutely idiotic. And you’re not helping your kid by bribing their way in.
The fact is that the US has had a third world country government since 2016. All the third world countries have kleptocratic unqualified leaders and that is exactly what the US has.

Seriously Harvard should have just paid whatever they needed to pay to cushion their not-rich students from any experience of hardship during COVID, and kept all of their employees on at full pay. They have 40B lol. It would have cost a rounding error. Not a hard choice because it’s wildly worth it from a PR standpoint to not even be mentioned at a time like this.
Rich people don’t get rich by giving their shit away. You start giving away that endowment to the cleaning staff and the donors will go someplace that knows how to treat people according to their class.

(and yeah, I know that the types of people who are in charge of these endowments don’t typically think like that, so my internet threat is dumb)

Using money in that way also requires enough compassion and empathy to disqualify you from having a job where you’ll be in charge of that kind of money.

Was going to post that Trump is threatening to shoot Iranian boats for doing what US warships do as a matter of policy - deliberately sail through Chinese claimed waters with gun ships just to piss them off. Sorry, I mean, ensure the proper functioning of maritime rules. But, I just bothered the read the detail about the Iranian ships sailing near the US ones and that’s all taking place in international waters, so it isn’t even that. It’s just shooting someone because you don’t like the look of them, which I guess US authorities do all the time already.
