I saw someone on twitter with the theory that a big reason he keeps pushing it is because he’s so proud of learning how to pronounce it. Compared to his tired and limited vocabulary where everything is “strong” and “powerful” it sounds damn near erudite. Could be possible, that’s about the extent of his depth.
Welp, good news everyone, the US outbreak will be officially over as soon as Trump sees this. He will see his approval as tied to the depressed economy and will accept any loss of life in the war to get the economy booming again.

I think he’s just desperate for this to end. And he’s clinging to any hope that it will. At first he said we were close to having a vaccine. But that was quickly proven to be total bullshit. So now he’s latching on to this. He knows that without an effective treatment that we’re hopelessly screwed.

It’s before today’s massive stock market bump in response to his leadership.
Armchair psychologing here, but I wonder if he more desperate about this than anything else. I’m not sure he has that firm a grasp on reality. For Trump, it’s like he’s always railing against some imagined boogeyman who is moments away from a crushing defeat/victory depending on how swiftly he strikes back with great bravado.
He’s losing a lot of money personally. There’s no chance that isn’t top of mind for him.
