I don’t understand why anybody is clamoring for the media members in attendance to ask him hard-hitting (or even just relevant) questions. Any attempt to “dunk” on Trump will instantly cause that media member to never be allowed within 1000 yards of a Trump press conference for the rest of their life. It’s completely by design to only have sycophants present. These are wannabe Maggie Habermans, to a person. This is corporate media and these individuals members of it are serving its (only) purpose. You don’t get “access journalism” without hardcore ass-kissing to those to whom you need access … even with those subjects who AREN’T suffering from pathological narcissism.
Some posters ITT seem to think that if only somebody can Tell Trump The Right Thing, that somehow anything will change. The only thing that would change would be that person losing their press credentials.
Even the relatively respected ones are amoral whores. This dude Manu Raju, who has been quoted in this forum, features well-known war criminal John McCain in his Twitter avatar. These people are not on our side in any way.

My experiment of re-following a few of the more benign right-winger FB friends lasted a day. I’m still mega-tilted.
One of them posted something blasting CNN and celebrating Trump for shutting down that reporter the other day (yesderday? nfc). Her Mom posted something where Rick Wilson (CNN personality!) tweeted #BEINFECTED. OMG MAH PEARLS HE’S WISHING DEATH ON RICK WILSON. Nevermind digging up every horrible thing everyone who’s ever been a FoxNews contributor has tweeted.
But if course Trump saying gee that’s too bad will just get gaslighted away.
It will literally be weeks before I stop having arguments with this person in my head.
