The Presidency of Donald J. Trump, Episode VII: We Are All Going To Die, Thanks Obama!

Not thanks to the thousands of delivery people putting themselves at risk. Thanks to the CEO.

How soon before Musk calls someone genuinely helping a pedo?

I see what you did there

Iā€™m just going to go ahead and assume thereā€™s a regulation against them making them or standards they have to meet that they canā€™t. And whichever one of those is true just got waived.

We also are getting

  1. The Chinese government, had they not been so evil, could have taken decisive action to completely suppress this pandemic.

  2. No other government could have done anything to stop the spread in their own countries so they cannot be held accountable.

You can assume that, and Iā€™m going to assume that our POTUS is just speaking out of his ass and making shit up like always.

Actually, I disagree. I teach future generations and I would argue that a portion of the students I teach are already smarter than many of their teachers (myself included). They are definitely more in tune with fake news, critical thinking, and problem solving than us as a generation.

God, he is such an attention whore.

Elon shows up during a natural disaster, offers help using some bullshit which does more harm than good and then goes around telling people how much of a humanitarian he is. I remember when the Church of Scientology exploited Hurricane Katrina and 9/11 by sending people to do weird ass touch massasges to victims in order to help them and itā€™s no different to what Elon is.

Guy has a cult of personality around him no different from Trump.

Yeah. The generations that swallowed whole the Gulf of Tonkin, Weapons of Mass Destruction and Iraqā€™s involvement in 9/11, and laser guided precision munitions with the utmost regard for civilian casualties is hardly in a position to lecture kids about fake news.

I know youā€™re not suggesting that these reasons are correct, but with respect to #2, people need to be throwing South Korea and Vietnam at him constantly. They had the same misinformation, they figured it out.

I think many people were fooled contemporaneously, but I donā€™t run into to many people who believe it now.

True, but unfortunately we vote contemporaneously.

Agreed. But it seemed like the discussion was about how future generations will judge this.

So itā€™s really the states fault now??? Does Donald know he can print unlimited money and use the DPA to manufacture whatever? Last time I checked a Governor canā€™t do that.

Ah. I was pseudo-grunching.

Can someone explain this DPA thing to me?

I get that Trump can order a company that makes X, Y and Z to make more X, Y, and Z for the war effort.

However, if he orders Ford to make Ventillators and they say ā€œour factories canā€™t do thatā€, what happens then?

I realize that Ford sounds like theyā€™re willing and able to help, so this particular scenario is not a real life problem. Iā€™m just trying to understand the DPA better.

Me too. So, Iā€™m not 100% sure on context either.

jalfrezi was closer imo. The question was about how future generations need to be taught how to get at the truth in general, not how to figure out the Corona Virus or anything in particular. Bobā€™s point was that they are better at that stuff than the old folks and mine was that previous generations fell for shit all the time too, though it was slightly different. The government was producing bullshit, the media delivered it without any skepticism, and the public ate it up.

I donā€™t know any older republicans that believe that the Iraq war was bad and caused way more problems than it ever could have solved. And most of them believe sadam hussein was connected to 9/11

Need to proofread before posting lol
