The Presidency of Donald J. Trump, Episode VI: No Witnesses, One Defector, No Checks or Balances

Spineless fuck

Stronger: Listening to Mitch McConnell talk about the decline of bipartisanship is like listening to Jeffrey Dahmer complain about the decline of men to have dinner with.

These are good points. I too would feel concerned if this were drawn out too long, but for the first day after impeachment, it’s a good move.

How many of these bitches are already on the record saying they won’t be impartial? Play that audio every time someone whines about due process and conclude with “FUCK OFF!”

Thank you for this thoughtful response.

Do you think they were right to move ahead without waiting for the SC decision predicted to come maybe April-June?

As I understand it, it’s pretty much par for the course for Congress to subpoena someone the President doesn’t want to testify, Congress fights back, eventually the courts come back to say yes, executive privilege has many applications, but this isn’t one of them, testify or be held in contempt.

But by that time, there’s usually a new Congress in session and nobody cares about holding the people who defied the subpoenas accountable.

In this case, I think moving ahead helps argue to the court that impeachment was seen as urgent and necessary, and thus their decision whether to review should be considered urgent and necessary.

I have been pondering why they would agree to review this instead of letting the lower courts rulings stand. I mean the writeup from the last judge was brutal, and the others haven’t been any kinder. If every judge so far has ruled that claims of privilege and absolute immunity here deserve to be laughed out of court, why is the SC agreeing to hear the case?

I think it’s because enough people on the SC see that this is a problem that will be tested even more deeply in coming administrations if they don’t rule on it now.

And I think it gives Dems a kind of insurance policy should they (likely) fail to secure a conviction before then.

None of this matters. The instant it goes to the Senate, it’s voted down regardless of what happens between now and then. The longer this is held by the House, the better. The Dems could stll add articles and things to investigate. Lord knows how much impeachable shit he’s done. They could add a new article every month and leave POTUS no time to breathe. He’d be fuming constantly and never have time to run on any platform. Hell, the stress might literally kill him. It’s certainly having an effect now.

One former senior White House official said Trump even stated so explicitly at one point, saying he knew Ukraine was the real culprit because “Putin told me.”

Imagine being a US congressperson or senator who got brow beat by Trump to push this insane Ukraine theory not even understanding it directly came from Vladimir Putin’s lips. I don’t even know how these people get their pets to look at them.

“not even understanding” they know damn well where it had to come from

I just saw this and never heard of this magazine but maybe it has clout in the brain washed Christian community.

Don’t really care the headlines are enough to possible induce a stroke so I support it, allegedly.

History shows Trump launching reflexive attacks on those who criticize him. I hate popcorn, but I’m gonna go get me some just in case.

The House overwhelmingly approved a revised North American trade pact by a vote of 385 to 41 on Thursday, giving President Trump and the Democratic majority an improbable bipartisan victory less than 24 hours after Mr. Trump was impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors.

You couldn’t even let him sweat it over the Christmas break you cowards?

You what

Meadows seat is safe, so dunno. Could be an admin position.

Popcorn is a vile abomination that I can’t stand being anywhere around.
