He realized he couldn’t have won; simple as that really. All the other shit is like LOL nobody’s gonna do anything.
So basically we spend trillions of dollars for over a decade trying to stand up the Iraqi military and they won’t even bother defending the US Embassy in the so-called Green Zone because they hate us almost as much as the Iranian militias do —what an absolute clusterfuck. Is was super cynical about this dumb dogshit war ever since day one and it still is a bigger fuckup than I imagine.

It has been 18 fucking years since 9/11. With the money we’ve wasted in the Middle East, to say nothing of the lives lost, we could have funded free health care for the entire fucking country. It is impossible for me to think about things like this and retain any optimism whatsoever about anything. It was plain as day that it was a con job at the time, and Democrats galore voted to approve it. This country is fucked and we deserve whats coming.
